An “abstract” painting is a painting of a recognizable object in its abstracted form and a “non-objective” painting is one that does not have a subject at all, even though the viewer may “see” something in the color, lines and shapes.
Whether I am painting abstractly or non-objectively I love to allow myself to go a little crazy and just put color down wherever it feels right to do so.
I may also incorporate all types of papers (rice paper, tissues, foils, etc.) and any interesting found objects into some of these works. These are called “mixed media” paintings.
